Alex + Kevin’s Cabo Wedding at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach

Beautiful Cabo Wedding

Okay, so that heading is true but also, I feel like it’s misleading. While their Cabo wedding was lovely, the truth is the couple days leading up to Alex and Kevin’s wedding were super stressful. Being an awesome and happy and amazingly relaxed couple, they decided to plan a destination wedding in Cabo at the awesome Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach! All-inclusive, lots of food and drinks and pool time for them and their guests. Fun right?

But then an uninvited guest arrived.

A guest by the name of Lidia.

Tropical Storm, Lidia.

Ryan (my husband and body guard for destination weddings) and I flew in on Wednesday the week of the wedding so we could have some extra pool time and exploration time. This way, when the wedding arrived on Friday we’d know the resort and be ready to rock and roll! Well, it’s an extra good thing we arrived early because all incoming and outgoing flights were canceled for Cabo on Thursday and Friday!

This meant many of Alex and Kevin’s family and friends (including her maid of honor and more of their bridal party) didn’t make it to the wedding. It’s not the most fun way to kick off what was planned to be a fun and party-filled wedding weekend.

The rain came down HARD on Thursday, flooding guest rooms and causing damage to the resort. And the forecast for Friday (wedding day!) was sketchy at best.

The wedding ceremony was moved off the beach and their cocktail hour and reception were moved indoors to be safe in case of rain and you know what happened…

NO RAIN.

Well, not until the reception at least (but rain on the wedding day is good luck!) We were able to shoot portraits and family photos all in the beautiful courtyard of the resort and soak in and enjoy the cloudy sky!

I know the weekend wasn’t as planned, but Alex and Kevin (and their amazing families!) made it wonderful! Never has a family and bridal party made me feel so welcomed and they’re honestly such an amazing couple. I wish I had recordings of the toasts so you could hear more about how loved these two are, but hopefully the photos will tell you a bit.

Congratulations Alex and Kevin, it was an honor and privilege to document your weekend. Also, since rain on the wedding day is good luck I think all the rain will add up to nothing but good luck for you both!
